can I substitute Cabernet Sauvignon for port wine in a recipe?
Most detailed answer:
Hmmm. Substitute one wine for another in a recipe.
Sounds to me like it’ll make your stove blow up. Cooking *is* rocket science you know. The slightest mistake and people die by the dozens.
Well, either that, or else nobody will even notice.

Is this true about a port stain?
Is this true about a port wine impair?
Best answer
NO.
That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. The affected person can seat a dermatologist for possible laser remediation, but there are no home remedies for port stains. Don’t try putting anything on that except for normal hygiene and cleanliness, or you could damage the skin and impose pollution.

Coupling Cheese with Wine
Pairing Food with Wine – as part of the expert series past GeoBeats. When utmost people think cheese, the natural duet to it is wine. Most people love to drink a glass of wine beside a good cheese. So there are a couple of matters you need to detain mind when you are going to do that. Even as with any silage, you want to cause sure that the complexity of the wine matches the complexity of the cheese. If you have a very one-note cheese, you can have a very one-note wine. If you have a complex cheese that has a lot of bold flavors, you want to make positive that you pair it near a very, very bold wine. The ignitor the flavor, the fuel the wine. You do not want to put, for example, a very strong blue cheese with an extremely light wine like a Sauvignon Blanc. It will not pair well. You need to keep that within mind. Also, you need to support in mind what you are serving the food with. Many people module serve cheese beside a potpourri of fruits and crackers, and things of that nature. If you somebody fruits or other items on your cheese plate, if you can find a wine that has those same fruit notes or those same flavors as the other items on your cheese plate, that wine volition naturally pair better with the cheese plate that you human served. One totally classical pairing is using a champagne with a ternary creme brie OR a Camembert. Again, those human nice light flavors, but they are very, very rich. If you have a very, very rich cheese, you need something nice and crisp to counteract the richness. So bubbly, near its bubbles, work totally very well with Brie or possibly a nice slice of bread. Maybe a twosome of apple slices would be a very lovely pairing. Also, you can use some of the fortified wines that are available to you, such a marina. Those tend to walk with very, very strong cheeses because the harmony counteracts the heaviness of the food. I personally like a good, tawny port with a very strong blue cheese. It makes me very happy inside. So those are several basic rules once it comes to pairing wines next to cheeses.
